General Provisions The Science Department is a structural subdivision of the university that ensures the organization, coordination, and development of research activities of faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students. The Science Department operates in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, the university charter, internal regulations, rector’s orders, and the regulations of the Science Department.
Purpose of the Science Department The main purpose of the Science Department is to develop the scientific potential of the university, improve the quality of scientific research, integrate the results of scientific activity into the educational process and practice, and ensure the competitiveness of the university.
Main Tasks of the Science Department
Organization and coordination of research work of departments and
structural subdivisions;
Planning the scientific activities of the university;
Monitoring the implementation of research plans of departments and faculty;
Supporting research projects, grants, and programs;
organizing scientific and practical conferences, seminars, roundtables, and
other events;
providing methodological assistance to faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates in
preparing research articles, theses, dissertations, and reports;
promoting the publication activities of university staff;
organizing the participation of faculty and students in international,
national, and university scientific events;
creating and maintaining a database of scientific papers, publications, patents, and
certificates;
preparing reports on scientific activity for accreditation, licensing, and
internal monitoring;
developing international scientific cooperation.
Main Functions of the Science Department The Science Department performs the following functions:
Develops and formulates the university’s annual scientific activity plan.
Collects and analyzes information on the scientific work of departments.
Maintains records of faculty scientific publications, including articles in journals
indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, the Russian Science Citation Index, and other databases. • Organizes intra-university, inter-university, and international
conferences.
Prepares draft orders, directives, protocols, and other documents
on scientific matters.
Coordinates the preparation of applications for grants, competitions, and research projects.
Monitors compliance with research deadlines.
Prepares summary reports on the university’s scientific activities.
Organizes research internships for graduate and undergraduate students.
Promotes the implementation of research results in the educational
process.
